[ARCHIVED] Duchesne County agencies coordinate to offer grants of up to $10k for local businesses

Multiple Duchesne County agencies have come together to offer Small Business Economic Recovery Grants of up to $10,000 for local businesses who have suffered due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Duchesne County, Duchesne City, Roosevelt City, Town of Myton, Town of Tabiona, and Town of Altamont have partnered, and pooled funds made available through the CARES Act to support businesses at this time of hardship. Local businesses can apply for grants of between $1,000 and $10,000 if they can prove that they were economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and meet all the following criteria:

  • Must be a registered business in Duchesne County or one of the cities and towns listed with an active business license as of April 1, 2020. Exemptions may be made for home-based businesses that do not require a license.
  • Must be a for-profit or not-for-profit business in good standing with the Utah Division of Corporations.
  • Must be current on property taxes through April 1, 2020.
  • Must have incurred a business loss from April 1-June 30, 2020 as a result of COVID-19.
  • Must have incurred business expenses from April-June 30, 2020 totaling at least the requested grant amount ($1,000-$10,000).
  • Must have fewer than 500 employees.
  • Must not be a publicly traded company. Exemptions may be made for franchises that are locally owned.

In order to be considered, grant applications must be received by no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, and must contain all required documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
